First State Bank Sponsors Financial Literacy Training in Local School
Danville, VA, September 6, 2011 – First State Bank has partnered with GreenPath, a Michigan non-profit organization, to provide a financial literacy training program to the students of Langston High School. Students at Langston will receive an eight week study course entitled “Banking Is”, which will provide them information on an Introduction to Economics, Personal Budgeting, Checking, Savings , Lending, Credit/Credit Cards and Electronic Banking.
Kelvin Perry, President and CEO of First State Bank, said regarding this project, “We believe it is important to train our next generation of customers to be responsible financial citizens in our community. We welcome this opportunity to assist Langston High in helping our students to become more financially literate.”
